Brief Description

Excavations here from 1936 to 1941 led to the discovery of the first hominid fossil at this site. Later, 50 fossils of Meganthropus palaeo and Pithecanthropus erectus/Homo erectus were found – half of all the world's known hominid fossils. Inhabited for the past one and a half million years, Sangiran is one of the key sites for the understanding of human evolution.

Justification for Inscription

The Committee decided to inscribe the nominated site under cultural criteria (iii) and (vi) as one of the key sites for the understanding of human evolution that admirably illustrates the development of Homo sapiens sapiens from the Lower Pleistocene to the present through the outstanding fossil and artefactual material that it has produced.

Long Description

Sangiran is one of the key sites for the understanding of human evolution. It illustrates the development of Homo sapiens sapiens from the Lower Pleistocene to the present through the outstanding fossil and artefactual material that it has produced.
The archaeological site of Sangiran is situated 15 km east of Solo. The geological stratigraphy of the Sangiran area covers 2 million years, from the late Pliocene to the recent periods. The Lower and Middle Pleistocene Ievels have produced considerable fossil and artefactual material. Fifty early human fossils (Pithecanthropus erectus/Homo erectus ) have been found, representing 50% of all the known hominid fossils in the world, together with numerous animal and floral fossils such as rhinoceros, elephant ivory, buffalo horn, deer horn and many others.
Palaeolithic stone tools (Sangiran flakes) found at Ngebung include flakes, choppers and cleavers in chalcedony and jasper and, more recently, bone tools. The site has also produced Neolithic axes. This evidence indicates that hominids have inhabited the area for at Ieast 1.5 million years. The Palaeolithic tools can be dated to around 800,000 BP, and the sequence of cultural material from this period through to the Neolithic illustrates continuous evolution of man in relation to the ecosystem over a long period.
The geology of the Sangiran Early Man Site is sedimentary in origin, beginning with the late Pliocene. It was deformed into a domed anticline by diaper intrusion. The summit was subsequently eroded by river action, turning it into a recessed, reversed dome. Early hominid fossils occur in successive formations, starting with the Pucangang (0.5-1.5 million years BP), but more particularly in the Kabuh (0.25-0.5 million years BP) and Notopuro (11,000-250,000 years BP). Nowadays, it is an unfertile hill and the region is now entirely devoted to peasant agriculture.
Ever since von Koenigswald found flake tools in the Ngebung village in 1934, the site has made an immense contribution to the study of evolution over the past million years by illustrating the evolution of Homo erectus . Homo erectus is important to the study of the early history of mankind before the emergence of the modern Homo sapiens . Fossils of Homo erectus have been found from time to time in a site covering 8 km by 7 km since 1936 to the present day.
Not only has the Sangiran site contributed to the understanding of the family tree of mankind, it has also thrown much light the evolution of culture, of animals, and of the ancient environment. Large quantities of human and animal fossils, along with Palaeolithic tools, have been found on the Sangiran site in a geological-stratigraphical series that has been laid down continuously for more than 2 million years.

He's a really really nice guy. Accidentally, I met him on a silly chatroom site, www.omegle.com.
No doubt, it was an idiot site. There's too many perves playing there. I don't get what they really wanna do there, but I guess they just don't have anything elses to do. Or, they have no idea how to respect time. technology, and people.
Sometimes, I think I just wasted my time looking for new buddy there. But at times, I was pretty sure that he's different. He vever talks about 'it'. At all. He is brazillian. His name is Fernando Bracarense.
He told me that he studies journalism at college, and also works in an intership. It's great, isn't it?
Finally I found a nice guy to write me emails. He sends me an email at least every two days.
I'm getting know him better. He's my new FRIEND.

Again, grateful for a thing we called "Technology". Certainly, we could do anything properly with it.

I watched this movie yesterday. It was simple, easy to understand, with no special part. It was about a girtl, named Sara Davis, who had huge passion about footbal. Her father always encourages her to be a player for national team USA. She never make it big deal, because she's happy with everything that she could do with her parent. But along she grown up, Sara realized that she can be anybody she wants, not always belonged to her daddy.
Sara met a nice guy, a photographer (sorry, forgotten name). She fell in love with him, and slowly knew that she needed to living a normal teenage life.
Okey, it's a little boring film.. but I LIKE IT. It makes me realize that I should take a look around and feel grateful for Allah bless and sake, so I always live in joy and happiness.

Masalah itu banyak. Apalagi punyaku. Tapi disyukuri aja deh. Karna hidup kan emang nggak pernah datar kan?

Tadi pagi, pelajaran fisika. Pak Inul (nggak pake daratista) tanya Basir.
Pak Inul   : Rabu kemaren kamu nggak masuk kemana?
Basir        : Bangun kesiangan pak
(Tanpa rasa bersalah sedikiiiiit pun -__________-)
Pak Inul   : Bangun kesiangan? Emangnya kamu kerja malem?
                 (Kayaknya udah mulai nggak-habis-pikir)
Basir        : HAHAHAHA Enggak pak.
Pak Inul   : Nggak dimarahin orangtuamu?
Basir        : Kan saya ngontrak sendirian, pak.
                 (Sok polos)

 MINE

You were in college working part time waitin’ tables
Left a small town, never looked back
I was a flight risk with a fear of fallin’
Wondering why we bother with love if it never lasts

I say "Can you believe it?"
As we’re lying on the couch
The moment, I can see it.
Yes, yes, I can see it now

Do you remember, we were sitting there, by the water?
You put your arm around me for the first time
You made a rebel of a careless man’s careful daughter
You are the best thing that’s ever been mine

Flash forward and we’re taking on the world together
And there’s a drawer of my things at your place
You learn my secrets and you figure out why I’m guarded
You say we’ll never make my parents’ mistakes

But we got bills to pay
We got nothing figured out
When it was hard to take
Yes, yes, I thought about

Do you remember, we were sitting there, by the water?
You put your arm around me for the first time
You made a rebel of a careless man’s careful daughter
You are the best thing that’s ever been mine

Do you remember all the city lights on the water?
You saw me start to believe for the first time
You made a rebel of a careless man’s careful daughter
You are the best thing that’s ever been mine

Oh, oh, oh

And I remember that fight
Two-thirty AM
Yes, everything was slipping right out of our hands
I ran out crying and you followed me out into the street
Braced myself for the goodbye
‘cause that’s all I’ve ever known
And you took me by surprise
You said, "I’ll never leave you alone"

You said, "I remember how we felt sitting by the water
And every time I look at you, it’s like the first time
I fell in love with a careless man’s careful daughter
She is the best thing that’s ever been mine"

You made a rebel of a careless man’s careful daughter
You are the best thing that’s ever been mine
Do you believe it?
Going to make it now
I can see it
I can see it now

DAMN! I ♥ Taylor Swift so much

 Cublak-Cublak Suweng

The game is played by some child / person, but at least three people. However, better between 6 to eight people. The aim of the game is Pak Empo find earrings (suweng) hidden person.

At the start of games or a few people gathered and raffle / specify any one of them to become Pak Empo. Usually drawn through pingsut / encon / sweepstakes usual. Once there is a role as Pak Empo. So they all sit in a circle. While Pak Empo lying face down in their midst. Each man put his palms facing upwards on the back Pak Empo.

One of them took the pebbles or the object (this object is considered as an earring). Then they all sing together cublak-cublak suweng, rolling stones from the palm of the hand that one to the other. so continue until the song is sung several times (usually 2-3 times).

Having reached the last stanza ... 'Sir-sir pong dele kopong' Pak Empo get up and other players pretend to hold the gravel. Right hand and left them holding something like a tightly sealed. This is to outwit the Pak Empo who are looking for his "suweng". Each player held up her finger and rub-grit right and left index finger (movement) just like the slice of chili. They're all still singing the Sir-sir pong dele gosong repeatedly until the Pak Empo appoint one of which is considered hiding earrings.

When the Pak Empo one pointing the game starts all over again (Pak Empo lying down). And when the Pak Empo managed to find people who hide earrings then these people become pack Empo switch roles. The game is finished when they agreed to resolve it.

Long time ago, in Sumedang, South Sumatera, there was a man named Serunting. Children named Princess Grace giant offspring, the dikhabarkan clashed with his in-laws named Aria Tebing. Because of this hostility is a sense of envy towards Aria Tebing. In the story, they have the adjoining paddy fields separated by trees.
Under the trees it grows mold. Fungus Aria Tebing overlooking fields towards grow into gold metal. While overlooking the fields Serunting's mushrooms grow into plants that are not useful. The spat was, on one day has turned into a brawl.
Realizing that Serunting more powerful, Arya Cliff stop fighting it. He tried to find another way to defeat his opponent. He persuaded his brother (wife of Serunting) to tell him the secret of his supernatural powers Serunting. According to his brother Aria Tebing, supernatural power of Serunting located on the vibrating reeds plants (although not in the wind).
Within' information, Aria Tebing challenge Serunting to fight back. He deliberately plunged his spear on the vibrating reeds. Serunting fell, and was seriously injured. Feeling betrayed by his wife, he went wandering. Serunting go to Mount Siguntang imprisoned. By Hyang Mahameru, he promised magical powers. Condition is that he should be imprisoned under the bamboo tree until the entire body is covered by a bamboo leaf. After nearly two years of meditation, the leaves were already covered the entire body. As promised, he finally accepted the supernatural forces.
Magic it is that sentence or saying anything that comes out of his mouth would turn into a curse. So he was given the nickname of the Bitter Tongue. He intends to return to his native region Sumidang. On the way home that he was testing its miracle. On the edge of Lake Ranau, met humble cane trees that have yellowed. The Bitter Tongue said, "Be a stone." So true, the plant was turned into stone. Onwards, he also condemns every person whom he met on the banks of the River to become the rock of Jambi.
However, he had good intentions. Some people said, he changed the bald hill Serut a timber forest. In the Karang Agung, is told she meets an elderly couple who have a desire to have children baby.
